Manual 2-1 Downshift

  1. Place the gearshift lever in the Drive position.
  2. Accelerate the vehicle until the 1-2 shift occurs.
  3. Go to 5 MPH above the 1-2 shift point.
  4. Release the throttle while moving the gearshift lever to 1st.
  5. Verify the TCC releases, the transmission immediately downshifts to 1st gear and the engine slows the vehicle.
