Action Taken When DTC Sets

PCM flashes Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) the first time catalytic converter damage can occur.
PCM illuminates MIL the second time the diagnostic fails.
PCM records operating conditions at the time the diagnostic fails. This information is stored in freeze frame buffer. PCM also freezes engine speed at MISFIRE and LOAD AT MISFIRE scan tool data parameters at the time MIL illuminates.
