PCM illuminates Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) on the second consecutive ignition cycle that diagnostic runs and fails.

PCM records operating conditions at time the diagnostic fails. The first time the diagnostic fails, PCM stores this information in failure records. If the diagnostic reports a failure on the second consecutive ignition cycle, PCM records operating conditions at the time of failure. PCM writes operating conditions to freeze frame and updates failure records.
