Action Taken When DTC Sets

PCM illuminates Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) after 2 consecutive ignition cycles in which the diagnostic runs with fault active.
PCM records operating conditions at the time the diagnostic fails. This information will be stored in the freeze frame buffer.
PCM enters FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION and operates with ignition timing fixed at 5 degrees Before Top Dead Center (BTDC).
