Solenoids & Wiring Harness: Installation

  1. Install the solenoids on the valve body. See Fig 1 . See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  2. Install the 2 new gaskets.
  3. Install the accumulator and check ball assembly. See Figure .
  4. Align the groove of the manual valve with the pin of the manual valve lever.
  5. Temporarily install the valve body with the 13 bolts. See Fig 2 .
    • Length of bolt (1) is 1.26" (32 mm).
    • Length of bolt (2) is 0.87" (22 mm).
    • Length of bolt (3) is 2.17" (.55 mm)
    • Length of bolt (4) is 1.77" (45 mm).
  6. Temporarily install the detent spring (1) and the cover (2). See Figure .
  7. Make sure the manual valve lever contacts the center of the roller at the tip of the detent spring.
  8. Tighten the 15 valve body retaining bolts. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  9. Install the ATF temperature sensor, then the lock plate and bolt on the valve body. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  10. Connect the 5 solenoid harness connectors.
  11. Install the oil filter and pan.
  12. Install the left engine splash shield.
  13. Lower the vehicle.
  14. Connect the negative (-) battery cable.
  15. Refill the transaxle with appropriate fluid to proper level. See DRAINING & REFILLING  under LUBRICATION.
