Solenoids & Wiring Harness: Installation

  1. Coat 3 new "O" rings with transmission fluid.
  2. Install the new "O" rings on the solenoids.
  3. Install the Pressure Control Solenoid (8) from the valve body, then the Pressure Control Solenoid bracket (7). See Figure . Tighten bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  4. Install the TCC solenoid (5), then the Torque Converter Clutch solenoid bolt (4). Tighten bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  5. Install the 1-2 shift solenoid (3) in the valve body.
  6. Install the 2-3 shift solenoid (1) in the valve body, then install the retaining bolt. Tighten bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  7. Install the valve body assembly to the transaxle case while connecting the manual valve connecting rod to the manual valve. See Figure .
  8. Secure the valve body assembly with the 17 bolts. See Fig 1 .
    • Bolt 1 length - 0.79 INCH (20 mm).
    • Bolt 2 length - 1.10 INCH (28 mm).
    • Bolt 3 length - 1.97 INCH (50 mm).

    Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .

  9. Install the manual detent spring and bolt. See Figure . Tighten bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  10. Connect the 4 solenoid electrical connectors. See Figure .
  11. Install the oil filter and the 3 bolts. See Figure . Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  12. Clean and install the 2 magnets on the oil pan. See Fig 2 .
  13. Install a new gasket on the oil pan, then install the oil pan to the transaxle. Secure the oil pan with 18 bolts. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  14. Install a new oil pan drain plug. Tighten plug to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  15. Install the left engine splash shield.
  16. Lower the vehicle.
  17. Connect the negative (-) battery cable.
  18. Refill the transaxle as necessary.
