DTC P1630: POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE UNABLE TO LEARN PASSLOCK(tm) MODULE PASSWORD: Testing

- If theft deterrent diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If theft deterrent diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to THEFT DETERRENT DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC), located below steering column. See Figure . Momentarily turn ignition switch to CRANK position, not letting engine start, release ignition switch to RUN position. Select scan tool PCM display DTCs function. If scan tool displays DTC P1630 as a current DTC, go to next step. If scan tool does not display DTC P1630 as a current DTC, go to step 4 .
- If scan tool displays DTC B2947, B2948, B2957, B2958, B3033, P1626, P1631 or any other DTC, go to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS . If scan tool does not display DTC B2947, B2948, B2957, B2958, B3033, P1626 or P1631, system okay at this time.
- Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Start vehicle. Select PCM display DTCs function. If DTC P1630 does not reset, system is okay at this time. If DTC P1630 resets, go to step 3 .
