Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2009 Saturn Vue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ignition OFF, open the hood to disable the Auto-Stop function.
  2. Ignition ON, verify the scan tool hood position parameter displays Open.
    • If the hood position does not display Open, refer to DTC P254F .
  3. Ignition OFF, disconnect the fuel pump control module (FPCM) harness connector.
  4. Ignition ON, test for 2-3 V between the enable circuit terminal 13 and ground.
    • If less than the specified range, test the enable circuit for a short to ground, or an open/high resistance. If the circuit/connections test normal, replace the ECM.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the enable circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit/connections test normal, replace the ECM.
  5. Command the fuel pump ON and OFF with a scan tool. The DMM should transition from 2-3 V when OFF, to greater than 10 V when commanded ON.
    • If the circuit voltage does not correspond to the specified values, replace the ECM
  6. If all circuits test normal, replace the FPCM.
