This diagnostic applies to internal microprocessor integrity conditions within the hybrid powertrain control module (HPCM). The HPCM monitors the regenerative braking ring input to verify that the indicated axel torque calculation is correct. The HPCM also communicates the axel torque calculation data via the control area network (CAN) circuit to the engine control module (ECM). The axel torque information is monitored by the ECM to ensure the requested engine torque is delivered to the drive wheels.
