Circuit/System Verification
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2009 Saturn Vue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Engine running, observe the following scan tool control circuit status parameters for the appropriate cylinder:
- IC Ckt Short Gnd Test Status
- IC Ckt Open Test Status
- IC Ckt Short Volts Test Status
Each parameter should display OK or Not Run.
- Operate the engine for 30 seconds. Observe the DTC information with a scan tool. DTC P0351, P0352, P0353, P0354, P0355, P0356, P2300, P2301, P2303, P2304, P2306, P2307, P2309, P2310, P2312, P2313, P2315, or P2316 should not set.
- Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC to verify the DTC does not reset. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
NOTE:
The ignition coils for each bank are fused separately. If a fuse opens or the ignition voltage circuit opens between the fuse and the splice, all the ignition coils for one bank of the engine would be inoperative. If the ground circuit opens at the engine block, the ignition coils would be inoperative for one bank of the engine.
