Circuit/System Testing: P061B

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2009 Saturn Vue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. DTC P061B may set when Hybrid Battery power output is limited. A reduced hybrid battery power condition is most noticeable during high electrical loads such as Autostop to Autostart transitions. Inspect for hybrid battery DTCs or conditions that would reduce available hybrid battery power such as:
    • Hybrid Battery Module undervoltage / P0AFA and various DTCs
    • Hybrid Battery Module overvoltage / various DTCs
    • Hybrid Battery Module voltage variation / P0AFA, P0BBD
    • Hybrid Battery overtemperature / P0C32
    • Hybrid Battery exposure to extreme cold
    • If any of the above DTCs are set or conditions are suspected, diagnose them prior to diagnosing this DTC.
  2. Program the PIM with the latest software version and recheck for DTCs.
    • If the DTC resets after programming or if the PIM already contains the latest software version, replace the Hybrid Battery. If the DTC resets, replace the PIM.
