Circuit/System Testing

  1. Engine ON, the scan tool Control Module Voltage parameter should display less than 14.5 volts.
    • If the voltage is greater than the specified value, test the Ignition Voltage circuit for a short to a voltage source greater than the specified value.
    • If the voltage is within the specified range, replace the PIM.
  2. Inspect for an external condition that may have caused a high -12 V circuit condition such as a battery charger.
