Rear Axle Vent Replacement

Preliminary Procedure: 
Remove the rear differential assembly from the vehicle. Refer to Differential Replacement .
1 Rear Differential Vent

Procedure

  1. Remove any dirt or debris from the vent area.
  2. Using an appropriate pair of pliers, remove the vent from the rear differential housing.

Tip: 
  • The rear differential does not have to be removed from the jack stand to perform this procedure.
  • When installing the vent, use a deep well socket that fits on the flange of the vent and gently tap the vent into place.
