Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Drain the rear differential. Refer to Differential Oil Replacement .
  3. Remove the muffler assembly. Refer to Exhaust Muffler Replacement (LAT or LE5) or Exhaust Muffler Replacement (LZ4) or Exhaust Muffler Replacement (LY7) or Exhaust Muffler Replacement (LCS) .
  4. Remove the right rear wheel drive shaft. Refer to Rear Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement .

  5. Using the appropriate tool, remove the axle shaft seal (1).
