Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2009 Saturn Vue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
WARNING: To help avoid personal injury, be careful when working in the vicinity of the generator battery disconnect control module. Internal components will still be live, 36V potential, even when the cover has been opened or removed.
  1. Disconnect the hybrid battery. Refer to Hybrid Battery Service Disconnect/Connect .
  2. Remove the generator battery carrier. Refer to Generator Battery Carrier Replacement .

  4. Remove the 2 generator battery fan bolts (2).
  5. Remove the 12 generator battery cover bolts (1).
  6. Remove the generator battery wiring harness from the clip (3) on the generator battery cover.

  8. Remove the generator battery cover.

    NOTE: Removing the interconnect cables will disable the 36 volts within the generator battery control module.
  10. Remove the generator battery terminal covers (1).
  11. Remove the generator battery cable nuts (2).
  12. Remove the generator battery cable leads (3, 4, 5) from the batteries.
  13. Remove the 3 small wire terminal leads located under the battery cable leads from the batteries.

  15. Remove the generator battery control module nut (1), and the battery cable (2) from the stud.
  16. Remove the generator battery control module nut (3), and the battery cable (4) from the stud.
  17. Disconnect the generator battery control module electrical connectors (5, 6).

  19. Remove the generator battery control module bolts (1).
  20. Remove the generator battery control module (2).
