Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement (LZ4) .
  2. Fig 1: Disconnecting/Connecting Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Electrical Connector

  3. Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.
  4. Remove the CMP sensor bolt.
  5. Remove the CMP sensor.
  6. Inspect the sensor O-ring for wear, cracks, or leakage if the sensor is not being replaced.
