Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .
  2. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement .

  4. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connectors (2, 3) from the appropriate camshaft position (CMP) actuator solenoid valve.

  6. Remove the exhaust CMP actuator solenoid valve bolt and valve (1), if required.
  7. Remove the intake CMP actuator solenoid valve bolt and valve (2), if required.
  8. Inspect the CMP actuator solenoid valve O-ring seals for damage, replace as necessary.
