Temperature Door: Removal

  1. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system (if equipped). See RECOVERY, EVACUATING & RECHARGING in GENERAL SERVICING PROCEDURES article in GENERAL SERVICING. Remove the coolant recovery reservoir or the surge tank. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the A/C accumulator (if equipped). See ACCUMULATOR in REMOVAL & INSTALLATION MANUAL A/C-HEATER SYSTEMS article. Remove the retaining screws from the evaporator case cover (if equipped). Remove the evaporator case cover from the HVAC module (if equipped).
  3. Remove the air temperature door linkage and actuator. Remove the air temperature door from the HVAC module. See Fig 1.
