Auxiliary Hot Water By-Pass Valve: Removal

  1. Remove the air cleaner. Remove the upper fan shroud. Drain the engine coolant. Disconnect the electrical connector from the valve.
  2. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the valve. See Figure. Remove the hose clamps from the outlet pipe and from the inlet pipe.
  3. Remove the bolt that retains the valve to the heater assembly. Remove the bypass valve from the heater assembly. Remove the heater hoses from the engine to the hot water bypass valve.
