Installation Procedure

Install a NEW exhaust manifold gasket onto the studs.
Install the exhaust manifold to the cylinder head.

CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Install NEW exhaust manifold nuts and tighten to 14 N.m (10 lb ft).

Install a NEW catalytic converter gasket.
Install the catalytic converter to the exhaust manifold studs.
Install the catalytic converter to exhaust manifold nuts and tighten to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
Lower the vehicle.
Install the exhaust manifold heat shield. Refer to Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Replacement (LAT or LE5) .
Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .
