Shift Cable (Column Shift): Removal

  1. Set the park brake and chock the wheels. Fully lift the retainer from the shift cable mechanism. See Figure .
  2. Disconnect the shift cable terminal from the manual shift lever pin. See Figure . Press the locking tabs inward in order to release the shift cable from the bracket.
  3. Remove the left closeout/insulator panel. Disconnect the shift cable terminal from the shift control lever pin. See Fig 1 .
  4. Remove the retainer from the shift cable mechanism. Press the locking tabs (1) inward in order to release the shift cable (2) from the bracket. See Fig 2 .
  5. Unplug the shift cable grommet at the cowl panel and remove the shift cable from the vehicle. See Figure .
