Installation Procedure

  1. Install the engine front cover gasket.
  2. Install the engine front cover.
    3. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  3. Install the engine front cover bolts and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
  4. Install the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement .
  5. Install the water pump. Refer to Water Pump Replacement (LZ4) .
  6. Install the thermostat housing.
  7. Install the crankshaft position actuator magnet. Refer to Camshaft Position Actuator Magnet Replacement .
  8. Install the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement .
  9. Install the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement .
  10. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill Without HP5) or Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716 Fill Without HP5) .
  11. Fill the engine with oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement .
