Control Valve Body Spacer Plate and 4-3 Downshift On/Off Solenoid Installation

    NOTE: If necessary clean and inspect the 4-3 solenoid.
  1. Remove the retaining clip bolts (133) and the retaining clip (134).
  2. Remove the 4-3 solenoid (135) and O-Rings (136) from the solenoid block (137). Discard the O-Rings and install NEW.
  3. Inspect all components and replace as necessary.
  4. Install the solenoid (135).
  5. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  6. Install the retainer clip (134) with bolts (133). Tighten the bolts to 4.5 N.m (40 lb in).

    CAUTION: A new spacer plate assembly must be installed to prevent possible transmission damage.
  8. Install the spacer plate with bonded gaskets assembly (90) on top of the channel plate.
  9. Install the spacer plate support (21) or 4-3 solenoid on hybrid models, and the two bolts (20) onto the spacer plate. Hand start the bolts. Tighten the bolts to 14 N.m (10.5 lb ft).
