Installation Procedure

  1. Install the starter motor to the vehicle.

    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
    NOTE: Hand tighten all bolts before finalizing any torques.
  2. Install the starter motor bolts and tighten to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
  3. Install the engine harness terminal and battery positive cable terminal to the starter motor.

  4. Install the starter solenoid BAT terminal nut and tighten to 15 N.m (11 lb in).

  5. Connect the starter motor electrical connector.
  6. Install the left side catalytic convertor. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side (LZ4) or Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side (LY7 ) or Catalytic Converter Replacement - Left Side (LCS) .
  7. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
