Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the inner axle shaft and housing assembly. Refer to INNER SHAFT AND/OR HOUSING REPLACEMENT - FRONT DRIVE AXLE (8.25 S4WD AND 9.25 AXLES)  or INNER SHAFT AND/OR HOUSING REPLACEMENT - FRONT DRIVE AXLE (8.25 F4WD AXLE) .
  2. Remove the clutch fork assembly (2) from the inner axle shaft housing (1).
  3. Remove the clutch fork inner spring from the differential carrier case assembly, if necessary. Take care not to dislodge the inner axle clutch shim from the inner axle shaft.
