Receiver Dehydrator Replacement (LAT)

Receiver Dehydrator Replacement (LAT)

Callout Component Name

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Remove the left headlamp assembly. Refer to Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb and/or Cornering, Sidemarker, Park, Turn Signal Bulb Replacement .
1 Receiver Dehydrator nut from condenser and the liquid line (Qty: 2)
Tip:  Use a large pair of pliers to hold fitting from twisting.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Tighten:  16 N.m (12 lb ft)

2 Separate Receiver Dehydrator fitting (Qty: 2)
Tip: 
  1. Remove and discard the seals. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement .
  2. Install protective caps to the condenser, the liquid line and the receiver dehydrator to prevent contamination and desiccant saturation.
3 Receiver Dehydrator bracket bolt (Qty: 1)

Tighten:  10 N.m (89 lb in)

4 Receiver Dehydrator
Tip: 
  1. Use a low viscosity, poly-alkylene glycol (PAG) oil. Use of the incorrect oil can result in system failure.
  2. When replacing the Receiver Dehydrator check oil quantities. Refer to Refrigerant System Capacities .
  3. Using J 39400  leak test Receiver Dehydrator fittings.
