Removal Procedure

NOTE: Use care when handling the coolant sensor. Damage to the coolant sensor will affect the operation of the fuel control system.

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (Static Fill) or Draining and Filling Cooling System (GE 47716 Fill) .
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  3. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (2) from the auxiliary heater water pump.
  4. Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector (1) from the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor.

  6. Remove the auxiliary heater water pump bolt and reposition the pump out of the way.

  8. Remove the ECT sensor.
