Removal Procedure

  1. Using a scan tool, retrieve the percentage of remaining engine oil. Record the remaining engine oil life.

  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (2.2L (L61) and 3.5L (L66)) or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (2.4L (LAT)) .
  4. Disconnect the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor.
  5. Loosen the clamp at the air cleaner assembly.
  6. Remove the push pin attachment from the outlet resonator/duct assembly to support bracket.
  7. Loosen the clamp at the throttle body assembly.
  8. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) fresh air hose at the cam cover.
  9. Remove the outlet resonator/duct assembly.
  10. Remove the J 1 and J 2 connectors at the engine control module (ECM).
  11. Remove the 4 ECM attachment bolts.
