Installation Procedure

  1. Clean all oil from the balancer (228), guide (236), bolt (227) and crankshaft.
  2. Lubricate the threads of the bolt (227) with clean engine oil.
  3. Install the guide (236), balancer (228) and bolt (227). Install the guide with the concave surface facing the balancer.

  5. Use the EN 46337  and a breaker bar in order to retain the crankshaft balancer. See Special Tools .
  6. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  7. Tighten the balancer bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 245 N.m (181 lb ft).

  8. Install the right front wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  9. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
