Removal Procedure

    CAUTION: The tensioner assembly's internal parts are not serviceable. To avoid injury, do not disassemble the tensioner.
    CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution .
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Raise the vehicle on the hoist. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  3. Remove the right wheel and the splash shield.
  4. Install the J 44811  onto the tensioner.
  5. Remove the accessory drive belt.

    IMPORTANT: To remove the tensioner bolt an access hole has been provided through the inner and outer engine rail.
  7. Remove the tensioner assembly.
  8. Remove the tensioner bolt.
