Removal Procedure

    CAUTION: The tensioner assembly's internal parts are not serviceable. To avoid injury, do not disassemble the tensioner.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (2.2L (L61) and 3.5L (L66))
  2. Raise the vehicle on the hoist. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  3. Remove the right wheel and the splash shield.
  4. Install the J 44811  onto the tensioner.
  5. Remove the accessory drive belt.

    IMPORTANT: To remove the tensioner bolt an access hole has been provided through the inner and outer engine rail.
  7. Remove the tensioner assembly.
  8. Remove the tensioner bolt.
