Installation Procedure

  1. Install the starter to the transmission.
    2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  2. Install the starter mounting bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the starter-to-transmission bolts to 44 N.m (33 lb ft).

  3. Install the B+ cable and nut.

    Tighten:  Tighten the B+ cable-to-starter nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  4. Install the S-terminal wire.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable to the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (2.2L (L61) and 3.5L (L66))  or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (2.4L (LAT)) .

    Tighten:  Tighten the battery terminal bolt to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).

  6. Reprogram the radio stations.
