Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Saturn Vue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: Do not tip the battery over a 45 degree angle or acid could spill causing serious personal injury.

  1. Install the battery to the vehicle.
  2. Install the positive battery cable to the battery.
    3. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  3. Tighten the positive battery cable terminal nut (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).

  4. Close the positive battery cable cover until the two side retainers are engaged.

  5. Install the battery hold down retainer (5).
  6. Install the battery hold down bracket nuts (1, 4).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  7. Install the wiring harness relay block bracket (2) and nut (3).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  8. Unsecure and position the ECM (w/bracket) to the battery hold down retainer. Align the side tabs and slide the bracket rearward.

  9. Install the 36 volt positive battery cable clip (4) to the ECM bracket.

  10. Position the engine wiring harness auxiliary BEC (1).
  11. Install the engine wiring harness auxiliary BEC (1) to the wiring harness relay block bracket.
  12. Install the engine wiring harness clip (2) to the positive battery cable bracket.
  13. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (2.2L (L61) and 3.5L (L66))  or Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (2.4L (LAT)) .
