Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Saturn Vue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
IMPORTANT: Clean any existing corrosion from the battery terminal bolt flange and the battery cable end.

  1. Install the negative battery cable (2) to the battery.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  3. Tighten the negative battery cable terminal nut (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).

  4. Close the negative battery cable cover until the two side retainers are engaged.

  6. Unsecure and position the ECM (w/bracket) to the battery hold down retainer. Align the side tabs and slide the bracket rearward.

  8. Install the 36 volt positive battery cable clip (4) to the ECM bracket.
  9. Install the generator battery control module cover. Refer to Generator Battery Control Module Cover Replacement .
  10. Close the hood.
  11. Insert the ignition key and turn the key to the ON position.
  12. Program all of the customer's radio station presets and set the radio clock to the current time.
