Power Brake Booster Pressure Sensor Replacement

CAUTION: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Caution . NOTE: Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Notice . Preliminary Procedures Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. Without disconnecting the electrical connectors, remove the transmission control module (TCM) and mounting bracket and position aside. Clean the area around the brake pressure sensor of any foreign material or debris. Disconnect the brake pressure sensor electrical connector. Place a clean shop cloth around the brake pressure mounting block outlet port brake pipe fitting to absorb any brake fluid.
1	Brake Pressure Sensor NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice . Procedure Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure) or Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual) . Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. DO NOT start the engine. Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle . Observe the feel of the brake pedal after performing the diagnostic system check. If the brake pedal feels spongy, perform the Antilock Brake System Automated Bleed Procedure . Perform the power brake booster pressure sensor learn procedure within the engine control module programming and set-up. Refer to Control Module References . Tighten: 18 N.m (13 lb ft)

Preliminary Procedures

Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.

Procedure

Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure) or Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual) .
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. DO NOT start the engine.
Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle .
Observe the feel of the brake pedal after performing the diagnostic system check. If the brake pedal feels spongy, perform the Antilock Brake System Automated Bleed Procedure .
Perform the power brake booster pressure sensor learn procedure within the engine control module programming and set-up. Refer to Control Module References .

Tighten: 18 N.m (13 lb ft)
