Component Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Saturn Vue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF, and remove the brake booster pressure sensor.
- Install a 3A fused jumper wire between the 5-volt reference circuit terminal or the sensor and the corresponding circuit terminal in the harness connector of the brake booster pressure sensor.
- Install a jumper wire between the low reference circuit terminal of the brake booster pressure sensor and ground.
- Install a jumper wire at signal circuit terminal of the brake booster pressure sensor.
- Connect a DMM between the jumper wire from signal terminal of the brake booster pressure sensor and ground.
- Install the J 23738-A
to the sensor vacuum port. Slowly apply vacuum to the sensor while observing the voltage on the DMM. The voltage should vary between 0-5.2 volts, without any spikes or dropouts.
- If the voltage is not within the specified range or is erratic, replace the brake booster pressure sensor.
