Preliminary Procedure Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling . Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement .
1	NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice . Steering Wheel Nut Tighten: 41 N.m (30 lb ft)
2	Steering Wheel Assembly Tip: Disconnect the electrical connector. Remove the steering wheel using J 1859-A Steering Wheel Puller with J 42578 Steering Wheel Puller Legs. See Special Tools . Make an alignment mark to note the relationship between the steering wheel and the steering shaft. The marks will be needed to align the wheel during installation. Steering Wheel Nut

Tighten: 41 N.m (30 lb ft)

Steering Wheel Assembly
Tip:

Disconnect the electrical connector.
Remove the steering wheel using J 1859-A Steering Wheel Puller with J 42578 Steering Wheel Puller Legs. See Special Tools .
Make an alignment mark to note the relationship between the steering wheel and the steering shaft. The marks will be needed to align the wheel during installation.
