DEFINITION: Both the front and rear wipers are inoperative, however the front and rear washers still operate.
1 Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle? Go to Step 2  Go to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Operate the front and rear wiper switches through all switch positions.
Does the wiper system operate normally?
Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections Go to Step 3

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the windshield wiper washer switch connector.
  3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  4. With a test lamp connected to a good ground, probe the accessory voltage feed circuit of the harness connector.
Does the test lamp illuminate?
Go to Step 4  Go to Step 5 
4 Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the windshield wiper washer switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .
Did you find and correct the condition?
Go to Step 7  Go to Step 6 
5 Repair the open or short to ground in the accessory voltage feed circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .
Did you complete the repair?
Go to Step 7  -
6 Replace the windshield wiper washer switch. Refer to Turn Signal Multifunction Switch Replacement .
Did you complete the replacement?
Go to Step 7  -
7 Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
Did you correct the condition?
System OK Go to Step 2
