Instrument Panel Tie Bar Replacement

Instrument Panel Tie Bar Replacement

Callout Component Name
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
Fastener Tightening Specifications:  Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications .

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement .
  2. Remove the brake pedal assembly. Refer to Brake Pedal Assembly Replacement .
  3. Remove the instrument panel retainer. Refer to Instrument Panel Retainer Replacement .
1 Instrument Panel Tie Bar to HVAC Module Assembly Nuts (Qty: 2)

Tighten:  4 N.m (36 lb in)

2 Instrument Panel Tie Bar to HVAC Module Assembly Bolts (Qty: 3)

Tighten:  4 N.m (36 lb in)

3 Instrument Panel Tie Bar to Body Bolts (Qty: 6)

Tighten:  25 N.m (18 lb ft)

4 Instrument Panel Tie Bar Assembly
Tip: 
  1. Note routing of the instrument panel wiring harness prior to removal to aid in the reinstallation.
  2. Disconnect the instrument panel wiring harness from the tie bar assembly.
  3. With the aid of an assistant, remove the tie bar assembly from the vehicle.
