Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 12 other vehicles, including the 1999 Oldsmobile Bravada, 1999 GMC Sonoma, 1999 GMC Jimmy, 1999 GMC Envoy, and 1999 Chevrolet S10 Pickup. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
IMPORTANT: Before installing new brake pads, wipe the outside surface of the caliper boot clean. Use denatured alcohol.
  1. Install the pads to the caliper bracket.
    CAUTION: Do not move the vehicle until a firm brake pedal is obtained. Failure to obtain a firm pedal before moving vehicle may result in personal injury.
  2. Verify that the wear sensors are at the trailing edges (downward) of the pads during forward wheel rotation.
  3. Install the caliper. Refer to REAR BRAKE CALIPER 
  4. Burnish the new brake pads
