Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2003 GMC Envoy, and 2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to JACKING AND LIFTING the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the fuel tank shield. Refer to FUEL TANK SHIELD REPLACEMENT (TRAILBLAZER, ENVOY)  or FUEL TANK SHIELD REPLACEMENT (TRAILBLAZER EXT, ENVOY XL)  .
  3. Remove the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister from its mounting bracket. Do not disconnect the canister lines. Refer to Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Replacement (TrailBlazer, Envoy, Bravada) or Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Replacement (TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL)  in Engine Controls.
  4. Support the transmission with a transmission jack.
  5. Remove the transmission mount to the transmission support retaining nuts.

  6. Remove the lower transmission support to the frame mounting bolts.

  8. Remove the upper transmission support to the frame mounting bolts.
  9. Remove the transmission support from the frame.
