Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2003 GMC Envoy, and 2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the grille. Refer to GRILLE REPLACEMENT (GMC) or GRILLE REPLACEMENT (OLDSMOBILE) or GRILLE REPLACEMENT (CHEVROLET) in Exterior Trim.
  2. Remove the front fascia. Refer to FASCIA REPLACEMENT - FRONT BUMPER (CHEVROLET, GMC) or FASCIA REPLACEMENT - FRONT BUMPER (OLDSMOBILE) in Bumpers.
  3. Remove the front impact bar. Refer to IMPACT BAR REPLACEMENT - FRONT BUMPER in Bumpers.
  4. Place the impact bar on a clean, prepared surface.

  5. Remove the bolt that retains the tow hook to the impact bar.
  6. Remove the tow hook from the impact bar.
