Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Vibe. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the rear transaxle mount into the rear transaxle mounting bracket.
  2. Secure the rear transaxle mount with the through bolt. Do NOT fully tighten the through bolt.
  3. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE in General Information.
  4. Install the 3 nuts and 1 bolt to secure the rear transaxle mount to the transmission support.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nuts and bolt to 52 N.m (38 lb ft).

  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Tighten the through bolt.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the through bolt to 87 N.m (64 lb ft).

  7. Remove the engine support fixture from the engine.
