Case Assembly Inspection

  1. Inspect the case interior for cracks or porosity.
  2. Inspect the case to valve body surfaces for damage.
  3. Inspect the vent assembly for damage.
  4. Inspect all fluid passages with compressed air.
  5. Inspect the transaxle case bores for the following conditions:
    • Damage
    • Porosity
    • Burrs
    • Sharp edges. Use a fine emery cloth to remove any sharp edges.
  6. Inspect all bolt holes for thread damage. For thread repair procedure, refer to General Specifications .
  7. Inspect the case interior for damage to the following components:
    • Ring grooves
    • Casting
    • Clutch plate lugs
  8. Inspect the case exterior for the following conditions:
    • Scarred or damaged gasket mating surfaces
    • Cracks
    • Porosity. For case porosity repair, refer to General Specifications .
