Removal Procedure

- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE in General Information.
- Remove the fuel tank shield. Refer to Fuel Tank Shield Replacement (Trailblazer, Envoy) or Fuel Tank Shield Replacement (Trailblazer EXT, Envoy XL) .
- If vehicle is a short wheel base (Trailblazer, Envoy, Bravada), remove the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister from its mounting bracket. Do not disconnect the canister lines. Refer to EVAP CANISTER in Engine Controls.
- Support the transmission with a transmission jack.
- Remove the transmission mount to the transmission support retaining nuts.
- Remove the lower transmission support to the frame mounting bolts.
- Remove the upper transmission support to the frame mounting bolts.
- Remove the transmission support from the frame.
