Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2002 GMC Envoy XL, 2002 GMC Envoy, and 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

  1. Install the transmission support to the frame.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in CAUTIONS & NOTICES .
  3. Install the upper transmission support to the frame mounting bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the upper transmission support to the frame mounting bolts to 80 N.m (59 lb ft).

  5. Install the lower transmission support to the frame mounting bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  6. Lower the transmission onto the transmission support.

  8. Install the transmission mount to the transmission support retaining nuts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the transmission mount to the transmission support retaining nuts to 46 N.m (35 lb ft).

  9. If vehicle is a short wheel base (TrailBlazer, Envoy, Bravada), install the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister. Refer to EVAP CANISTER in Engine Controls.
  10. Install the fuel tank shield. Refer to Fuel Tank Shield Replacement (TrailBlazer, Envoy)  or Fuel Tank Shield Replacement (TrailBlazer EXT, Envoy XL) .
  11. Lower the vehicle.
