Exhaust Muffler Heat Shield Replacement: Installation

  1. Position the shield to the vehicle, aligning the front rivet locations which are common attachment points with the front heat shield.
    2. NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the fuel tank strap bolt and tighten.

    Tighten:  Tighten the fuel tank strap bolt to 25 N.m (19 lb ft).

  3. Install the rivets
  4. Install the resonator and muffler. Refer to Muffler Replacement (Service Part)  or Muffler Replacement (Production Assembly) .
