Removal Procedure

  1. Open the lift gate.
  2. Pull the lift gate weatherstrip from the lift gate opening pinch-weld flange by starting at the joint at the bottom of the lift gate opening.
  3. Note the position of this joint for installation.
  4. Clean all the adhesive from the lift gate opening pinch-weld flange using GM P/N 8984 adhesive remover or equivalent.
