3	Install a scan tool. Close the lift gate. Turn on the ignition, with the engine off. With a scan tool, observe the liftgate ajar switch parameter in the Body Control Module data list. Does the scan tool display Low?	Go to Step 4	Go to Step 6
4	Disconnect the liftgate lock actuator/ajar switch harness connector. With a scan tool, observe the liftgate ajar switch parameter in the Body Control Module data list. Does the scan tool display Low?	Go to Step 5	Go to Step 7
5	Test the rear compartment lid ajar switch circuit for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems. Did you find and correct the condition?	Go to Step 12	Go to Step 8
