Lumbar Support System Description
The lumbar adjuster relays control the battery positive voltage supply to the lumbar support motors. Each lumbar support motor is controlled by a relay with 2 sets of coils and contacts. When the relay coils are de-energized the relay contacts are closed to ground. Battery positive voltage is supplied to the lumbar adjuster switch and is used to energize the lumbar adjuster relay coils. When a lumbar adjuster switch is pressed voltage is supplied through the control circuit to the relay coil. Only one relay coil within a lumbar adjuster relay may be energized at any given time. The energized side of the lumbar adjuster relay provides the battery positive voltage to the lumbar support motor supply circuit. The lumbar adjuster motor ground is provided through the supply circuit to the de-energized side of the lumber adjuster relay. The lumbar adjuster motors are reversible and the direction of the motor rotation is by which of the supply circuits is provided battery positive voltage and which remains grounded.
